BMW is planning to introduce the space age technologies in its new, upcoming car named as “i Next” which BMW people say to launch in 2021, five years right after now. What it contains? A BMW petrol engine, diesel one or hybrid with electronic motors? It is not confirmed yet but let’s look on some of the closest possibilities in the coming fantasy.
Because the BMW has registered as trademark that it’s all “i” models will range between i3 and i8, it will probably get a number between them. It will assume to be an all-electric saloon about 5-series size with a step-change batteries. The Sales and Marketing chief of BMW said at the launch of the Mini and Rolls-Royce centenary vision cars that the “i Next” would be their new spearhead for innovation and technology.
Space Age Technologies and Smart Gadgets
The “i Next” is planned to equip with amazing smart features and gadgets like autonomous driving, digital connectivity, intelligent lightweight design and stylish and totally new interior. BMW also plans to bring the next generation of electro-mobility to the road. As the 7-series BMW is 200kg lighter than the previous ones, it would only possible with the i3 and i8. i Next will be amazingly lighter weight. We can assume lots of carbon fibre and aluminium. The “i next” will also carry the next step in autonomous driving.
Inspiration from the Vision Next 100
It is also said that the “i next2” takes inspiration from the looks of amazing, ultra-drag, shape-shifting BMW Vision next 100. The Vision car is also a surprising package for autonomous car lovers. The driver interfaces use the whole windscreen as an augmented-reality display. It can smartly portray the ideal surrounding line of the path with the images of hidden objects.
i Next, The power of an EV
i Next will definitely be an EV in terms of power. Inside it, the batteries contains a lot of efficiency in its. What is the change? The battery structure is same as of the i3. The modification is the lithium battery cells. In future, there will be lithium air batteries. They have the ability to cover 400 mile range. Amazing!! Isn’t it?? Well it’s not the end. The battery will also charge in as short time as a cup of tea. Solid state batteries will also be in the following line with full package, energy density and safety benefits.
Innovation with Digital Connectivity
The on-board artificial-intelligent virtual assistants are introduced as digital connectivity in the “i Next” which is previewed in the Rolls, BMW and Mini car show. They are known as ‘Eleanor’, the ‘Companion’ and the ‘Cooperizer’ respectively. Big heap of digital driver support, customization and concierge-y stuff is expected to be revealed in the “i Next”.
