Mostly, the X5 has the diesel variants. Whereas the petrol being the preserve of the high-performance and plug-in hybrid versions. A diesel BMW X5 engine version with the rear wheel drive is sDrive 25d featuring 218 bhp four cylinder diesel. The other engine trims are the xDrive 4WD which start from the 30d, having the 258 bhp with 3.0-Litre diesel engine, whereas the 35d has replaced the 40d with the same engine as of BMW X5 30d but the bhp is 313.

As far as the petrol variant is concerned, there is available 50i with the 450bhp and a powerful 4.4-Litre V8 engine, whereas the 40e with the plug-in-hybrid version of 2.0-Litre petrol engine. The electric motor emits 305 bhp.

Overall, the features of the BMW X5 xDrive are dynamic and is a big threat for the most of its rivals.

In the X5, the Euro NCAP is available with more safety kit than ever before. The other features including the departure warning, rear collision alerts and blind-spot monitor and BMW emergency call option are amongst the most main features of this model.
