Get into the UK spec BMW M2 coupe and you will realise its worth of £44,000 or more pounds, just after pushing the throttle a bit. It will firmly push you into the seats and you will feel a pressure on your chest because of a mountain of torque coming from the 3.0-litre BMW engine.
The all new baby M has been one of the most glorified model in the 2016. It has already been sampled at the Laguna Seca production facility in California USA. It is a rival to Porsche Cayman S and the correct side of the Atlantic with right-hand drive.
It may be the entry-level M performance car however, there is nothing that shows it like but its name. The 3.0-litre 6-cylinder BMW engine produces more than 365bhp and a mountain of 500Nm of torque with an over boost feature.
So it’s not seem like an entry level model. All the power coming from the engine, controlled by a six speed transmission that helps the M2 to get 62 miles per hour sprint just 4.5 seconds which is just a fraction of second down from the M4 which produces 423bhp. The M2 is also £13,000 less than its larger sibling M4.
The BMW engine used at the M2 is the same one used in the M235i with single turbocharger rather than the twin turbocharger in the M4.
The M2 do not have any adaptive dampers but the springs have been further stiffened to better handle the extra power coming from the engine. The massive 500Nm of torque stats flowing with its full capacity from only 1400rpm.It is expected that more than 2000 units will arrive in the UK and the buyers will be lucky enough to ride M2 in the UK.
