BMW Joins Intel to Enhance Robotic Manufacturing Process

BMW and Intel plan robotic automobile manufacturing in the future to make the process even smarter

BMW, Intel and computer vision prescient company Mobileye have signed a deal to manufacture self-reliant and autonomous vehicles in the future. The three businesses will collaborate on the programs to make BMW automobiles navigate without any support from a human driver, just like google driverless car which has been under testing since 2009 and getting smarter and brainy with the time.

Google confirms that they are about launch the driverless vehicle very soon. Initially the prices will be very high. Although the UK has been working on a big project of developing driverless cars and they have seen some success as well. There is a fleet of driverless cars that is serving the Heathrow airport in London from one terminal to another.

What BMW cars will offer?

The autonomous cars produced by BMW and Intel will be capable of riding safely alongside major roads and in suburban and inner metropolis areas. BMW said it hoped the collaboration would imply it could put robotic cars into construction via 2021.

When they become partners?

The research partnership was introduced on the day when US officers begin an investigation into a fatal automobile crash involving a Tesla model S, to which auto-pilot mode caused the death of the owner of Tesla model S. The man collided with a lorry and died at the spot. The lorry driver confessed that he did not watch the car as the driver of the car was watching a movie while driving at high speed.

Plugged in intelligence

BMW mentioned the trio would strengthen computers and sensor systems that gradually diminish the phase where human interface is necessary while driving. Eventually, it said, it hoped to provide mobility options that would operate totally autonomously with driver interface. Achieving this, said BMW would make it feasible for fleets of unmanned cars to function safely as BMW is one of the most popular brands for the fleet and company cars in the UK.  It would shoot the production of new ride-sharing offerings in urban areas or result in the creation of long-distance supply services that employ robot-pushed vehicles.

What the trio thinks about the autonomous cars?

In an announcement, the three corporations stated they had been “satisfied that automatic driving technologies will make travel safer and simpler”.

Initial work would simply focus on a “principally automatic driving” prototype which BMW stated it planned to validate this year. Extra extensive exams of this technology throughout plenty of vehicles were planned for 2017, it delivered. The self-driving vehicle that emerges from the partnership would be prone to be electrical and referred to as the iNext, it stated. Other cars within the i-variety include the i8 hybrid and the i3 all-electrical vehicle.
