BMW has released the 730d luxury saloon with almost every gadget expected from the German automaker.
It has redesigned bumpers, new 3.0-litre straight six BMW 730d diesel engine, side air vents and BMW’s most modern laser headlights that can go for 500 meters on the road, the kidney grille is now even bigger, tail lights are refined and redesigned, restyled exhaust tips and alloy rims with new paint job. Same is the story of interior but before diving in, lets open the bonnet to see what is hiding under it?
BMW 730d luxury saloon has been powered by a 3.0-litre straight six diesel engine, capable of generating 285bhp from only 4000 engine rpm. It has some powerful torque delivery and the full torque starts flowing from only 2000 to 2500 rpm. It has 457lb-ft of torque and a common rail fuel delivery system to save you more fuel and ultimately increase the mileage range per gallon.
This straight six engine is a powerful performer with a zero to 62 miles per hour in 5.8 seconds. It gets the top speed of 155 miles per hour and fuel economy is also not that bad.
It returns just under 45 miles per gallon in the city areas however, when it cruises on the motorway, fuel economy jumps around 10 miles per gallon to make it an efficient luxury saloon. Carbon emissions are relatively higher but according to the engine size, the figures are acceptable with 127g/km.
